Kane to Kick-Off
Calder Trophy Winner To Drop Puck at World’s Largest Amateur
Tournament
CHICAGO – October
10, 2008 –
Nike Bauer Hockey is pleased to announce that Chicago Blackhawks
forward Patrick Kane will take part in the opening festivities of
the Nike Bauer International Invite Tournament. The 2008 Calder
Trophy winner will drop the puck to start the annual event on
Thursday, Oct. 30 at Three Bridges Arena in Woodridge, Ill.
Opening night
activities will feature a game between Chicago Blackhawks alumni and
St. Louis Blues alumni with several formers players expected to
participate. In addition, numerous special guests are expected to
attend, including hockey legends Gordie Howe and Bobby Hull.
Representatives from USA Hockey, the NHLPA, the AHL and the Russian
Ice Hockey Federation will also be on hand, once again making this
year’s tournament a truly global event.

have Patrick Kane join us on the opening night and help officially
kick off this year’s tournament,” said Steve Jones, Global Brand
Communications Director, Nike Bauer Hockey. “As one of the top young
players in the game today, Patrick Kane is a great role model for
the thousands of players from around the world that will take part
in this year’s Nike Bauer International Invite Tournament.”
Kane, a 19-year-old
forward, registered 21 goals and 51 assists for 72 points in 82
games last season. A native of Buffalo, N.Y., Kane was the first
overall selection in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.
